Kinder-Funeral service for Celia Fontenot, 91, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Don Willis will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder from 9 a.m. until time of service with the Holy Rosary at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017.
Celia was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Clearence, for 65 years until his passing in 2011. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and reading. Celia especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She treated them all as if they were her own. Celia was a lifelong resident of Kinder and St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She was a woman of strong faith. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Celia's memory include her son, William "Billy" Lloyd Fontenot and wife, Wanda, of Kinder; one daughter, Barbara Reed and husband, Ed, of Iowa, LA; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Celia is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Eugeneia Spears; six brothers, Jim, Kelly, Delmar, Edwin, Emmet, and Buck Spears; and four sisters, Effie Doucet, Lilly Verret, Eva Guillory, and Cecil Spears.
