Burnelle was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a devoted wife to the love of her life, Roy Taylor, for fifty-two years until his passing in November of 2010. She was a faithful member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, as well as a member of the Ladies Altar Society and Come Lord Jesus Prayer Group. Burnelle was very active in her community and gladly participated in many events and organizations over the years. She was a former secretary for the Kinder Chamber of Commerce, former President of the Kinder Garden Club and a member of Alpha Zeta Phi Sorority at McNeese State College. Burnelle enjoyed painting and traveling; but most importantly she enjoyed gardening, which was very evident in her yard. She absolutely enjoyed spending time with her family on camping trips, holiday gatherings and Sunday dinners. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Burnelle's memory include her three daughters, Sharon Taylor, Shelly Butts and husband, Danny, and Sharla Taylor; one son, Roy Taylor, Jr., and wife, Jill; six grandchildren, Daniel Butts and wife, Jennifer, Tiffani Butts LeMay and husband, Brandon, Gerald Butts and wife, Miranda, Zachary Butts and wife, Ashley, Ashton Creamer and McKinney Taylor; and twelve great grandchildren, Bailey, Emily, Sophie and Samuel Butts, Avreal and Alston LeMay, Bentley, Brent and Bryce Butts, and Jameson, Langley and Whitley Butts.
Burnelle is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Taylor, Sr.; parents, Lawrence and Gladys Duplichan; one brother, L.J.; one sister-in-law, Kay Duplichan; and one great-grandson, Aydon LeMay.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Mrs. Burnelle's caregivers, Gwen, Katie and Heart of Hospice.
