Rev. Carroll was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend and pastor. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Linda, for sixty-three years. Carroll was a devoted pastor who began his ministry in 1956. He married his love, Linda, in 1957 and they made a ministry of service and dedication to the Kingdom of God together. They took their first church, Cheyenne United Pentecostal Church, in Cheyenne, WY in 1960 in which they started. Together, they served the church for three years. They then moved to Kinder where they began a service at Indian Village United Pentecostal Church where they served for five years. Carroll and Linda then moved to Oakdale where they began service to the Gospel Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church where they served for three years. After Gospel Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church, they moved to Rayne United Pentecostal Church where they served for three years. After Rayne, they returned to the Gospel Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church in Oakdale where they would serve for an additional seven years. Next, they began service to the Haughton United Pentecostal Church in Haughton, LA where they served for five years. After Haughton United Pentecostal Church, they went on to evangelize for three years. After evangelizing they began service at Richie United Pentecostal Church in Church Point for five years. After thirty-nine years of devout service and dedication as a beloved Pastor and First Lady; they decided to move back home to their family in Indian Village where they then continued to serve as interim pastors in Westlake, Provencal and Turkey Creek. Carroll and Linda also served many other churches spreading the gospel and worshipping the Lord through message and song. Carroll was honored to have had the opportunity to have a United Pentecostal Church built in his name in Thailand in hopefulness of their continued service and dedication. He was awarded a certificate of service of fifty years, as well as, a second certificate of sixty years from the United Pentecostal Church International.

Outside of Carroll's work in the ministry he loved traveling in his motor-home, hauling junk iron, mowing grass, looking at old cars and spending time with his family. He adored his grandchildren; they were his everything. While traveling, he traveled to all fifty states and seven foreign countries. He also loved helping people; even while he preached and served he would help his fellow pastors and congregation. He would do anything from fixing churches, clocks, tuning pianos and just helping whenever needed. He made friends wherever he went; never meeting a stranger. Carroll was an amazing pastor who could never be replaced. His dedication to the Kingdom of God is unprecedented. His dedication to his family is unsurpassable. Carroll was a wonderful man who never wavered from his beliefs. His works will always be remembered. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Carroll's memory include his wife, Linda V. Bushnell of Kinder; two sons, Craig Bushnell and wife, Lori, of Moss Bluff and Bruce Bushnell and wife, Sandra, of Oakdale; one daughter, Mira Odom and husband, Floyd, of Haughton; one brother, Chester Bushnell and wife, Jean, of Kinder; two sisters, Dean Miller of Kinder and Ollie Shuff of Iowa; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
