Carrie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Elathey "Bill" Ware, Sr., for fifty-eight years until his passing in November 2010. Carrie was a woman of strong faith and had a wonderful relationship with her Savior. She enjoyed crocheting, playing the guitar, gardening, listening to French music and cooking. Her family says she made the best dirty rice, lemon pie and gumbo. Most of all, Carrie cherished spending time with her family. She worked very hard to provide for them. She enjoyed being involved in the community. Carrie loved to have a good time and was always smiling and laughing. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Carrie's memory include her two daughters, Patricia Duplechian and husband, Don, of Oberlin and Jennifer Manuel and husband, Ray, of Mamou; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Carrie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elathey "Bill" Ware, Sr.; two sons, Elathey "Billy" Ware, Jr. and Craig Steven Ware; one daughter, Marlene McDaniel; three brothers, Edward Lafosse, Melvin Lafosse and Stanford Dee Langley; one sister, Elma Reed; and one grandson, Nakia "Nick" Elathey Joseph Ware.
