Obituary
Oberlin-Funeral service for Carolyn Marcantel, 51, will be held at First Pentecostal Church of Oberlin on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. Rev. A.A. Haymon will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home-Oberlin Chapel.
The family will receive visitors at Allen Parish Funeral Home, 119 S. 7th Street, on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 1-10 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Carolyn was a graduate of Oberlin High School. She retired from Allen Parish Library with 34 years of service. Carolyn was a loving mom, daughter and sister. She enjoyed dancing, music, shopping and being with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by those whose lives she touched.
Survivors include her mother, Marilyn Marcantel of Oberlin; one daughter, Holly Victoria Taylor of Oberlin; one brother, Scott Marcantel and wife, Jennifer of Oberlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her father, Clifford Marcantel and her husband, Danny Taylor.
