Kinder-Mass of Christian Burial honoring Carole Savant Fontenot, 85, will be held on Monday afternoon, October 12, 2026, at 1 o’clock p.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Alan Troullier will officiate. Carole will be laid to rest at Kinder McRill Cemetery in Kinder, LA immediately following her services.

    Carole’s family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 2-8 o’clock p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 3 o’clock p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 10 o’clock a.m until time of departure for church. All of Carole’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

    In Loving Memory of Carole Savant Fontenot, 85, of Kinder, LA, passed away on October 7, 2026. She was born on January 16, 1941, in Kinder to Lenear and Arlene Savant. A retired teacher’s aide, Carole spent many years supporting teachers and helping students learn and grow. Her years in education were a meaningful part of her life, and she will be remembered by the children and colleagues she worked alongside. Carole took pride in keeping her home clean and neat. She found joy in caring for her home and making sure everything was in its place. The attention she gave to these everyday tasks reflected her appreciation for a well-cared-for home and the comfort it brought her. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

    Carole is survived by her children, John Albert Fontenot; Don Fontenot and his wife, Montez; Karan Richard; and Mindy Gilbert and her husband, Ron; her sister, Kay Savant; six grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

    Carole was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Fontenot; her granddaughter, Catherine Richard; and her great-grandson, Will Fontenot.

    The family would like to express their gratitude to Ms. Edy Daigle for the special care and attention she provided to Carole, as well as to the staff at Calcutta House.
