Obituary

Elton-Funeral service for Carl LaVergne, age 57, will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at St. Paul Catholic Church of Elton. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m., followed by a Holy Rosary at 6 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2016.
Visitation will resume Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Carl was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and LSU Tigers. He loved to fish, hunt, play cards and shoot pool. Carl loved to cook of which he was a great cook. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved children. Carl will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Carl's memory include his father, Claude LaVergne; his wife, Renee Landry LaVergne; two sons, Justin Lavergne and wife, Malina, of Jennings and Carlton (C.J.) LaVergne of Elton; one daughter, Christi LaVergne of Elton, four brothers, Owen LaVergne and wife, Connie, of Jennings, Clinton LaVergne of Jennings, Laurent LaVergne and wife, Wendy, of Rayne, Nathan LaVergne and wife, Jessica, of Scott; three sisters, Roena Esthay and husband, Daryl, of Jennings, Charlotte LeBlanc of Mobile, AL, Claudia Fruge and husband, Mike, of Jennings; and three grandchildren.
Carl is preceded in death by his mother, Etta LaVergne; his brother, Jeffrey LaVergne; and grandchild, Justin Paul LaVergne, Jr.
