Kinder-Funeral service for Carl James Fontenot, Jr, 60, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 in the chapel of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Alfred Gibson will officiate. Burial will follow in McGee Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 1 p.m.
Carl was currently residing in Cairo, GA. When he lived in Louisiana, he worked for many years as a fisherman. He loved to fish for crabs and garfish. He was the fastest there was at "skinning" a gar. He loved his rock music. And, he always looked after his sister in school when they were growing up. He also loved spending time with his stepson and step-grandson. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving mother, Clara Fontenot, of Opelousas; his wife, Pamela Fontenot of St. Bernard; his sister, Carla Guerra, husband, Denny, and nephew, Austin, all of Opelousas; one stepson, Ruston Graybill and wife, Annette, of Arabi; and one step-grandson, Ruston Graybill, Jr. of Arabi.
Carl is preceded in death by his father, Carl Fontenot, Sr. and his nephew, James Bordelon.
