Elton-Funeral service for Candace Battise Guidry, age 27, will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Indian Bible Church of Elton. Rev. John Cernek will officiate the service and burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin on Monday, October 1, 2012 from 3-10pm at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton with a singing service being held at 7pm. The family will continue to receive visitors on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 8am until time of service.
Candace was a lifelong resident of Elton and a member of the Indian Bible Church. She was a loving mom and daughter and was very close to all of her nieces and nephews, as well. She was a caring friend to everyone she knew. Candace enjoyed reading and cooking. She loved to read cooking magazines and watching cooking shows on television was one of her favorite things to do! Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her mother, Lelia Obe Battise of Elton; her husband, Anthony Guidry of Elton; two daughters, Ariel and Angel Guidry of Elton; three brothers, Jarrod Thompson and wife, Darla of Elton, Jonathon "Craig" Thompson and wife, Tina of New Mexico, and Jason Battise of Elton; one sister, Carla Fisher and husband, Tony of Iowa; her paternal aunt, Arlene Williams of Elton; her paternal uncle, Paul Battise of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Candace is preceded in death by her father, Dennis "Tom" Battise; paternal grandparents, Ramsey and Quincy Battise; and maternal grandparents, Boston and Minnie Obe.
