Kinder-Funeral service for Burgess (Buggy) Bushnell, age 93, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Indian Village United Pentecostal Church. Rev. Terry Bushnell will officiate. Burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Indian Village United Pentecostal Church, from 4-8 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2016. Visitation will resume Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Buggy was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He was devoted to his wife, Flo. Buggy retired from John Deer and served in WW II in the United States Navy. He was a lifelong member of Indian Village United Pentecostal Church. Buggy loved the Lord and was a prayer warrior in his faith. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Buggy's memory include his three sons, Joe Bushnell, Ken Bushnell and wife, Teri Joe, and Wen Bushnell all of Indian Villiage; two daughters, Brenda Deormon of DeRidder and Carol Ann Gibson and husband, Bob, of Hayes; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren; six stepchildren, a host of step grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.
Buggy is preceded in death by his wife, Flo Bushnell, Joyce Paxson Bushnell, three brothers and four sisters.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Allen Parish Hospital, Dr. Matt Courville, Evangeline Home Health, and Heart of Hospice.
