Oakdale-Funeral Services for Bruce Rodriguez, 62, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Jeremy Blocker and Rev. Leon Fontenot will officiate. Burial will follow at Cryer Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors beginning Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 1-10 p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Bruce was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and a friend to all. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Diedra, for forty-four years. He enjoyed spending time with his two sons any chance he had. Bruce had five granddaughters; they were his entire world just as he was theirs. His granddaughters loved spending time with their pawpaw, poppie, or pops as they liked to call him. He loved his only brother, Kevin, very much and loved spending time with him, as well as, his nieces and nephews. Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing and, last but not least, gardening. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Oakdale in 2014. At that time, he became an instructor for Sowela Technical College. Bruce worked hard to provide for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Bruce's memory include his wife, Diedra; two sons, Chris Rodriguez and Bruce Rodriguez II and wife, Jennifer; one brother, Kevin Rodriguez and wife, Tammy; and five precious granddaughters, Mali, Saylor, Kayleigh, Raegen and Avery.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Connie Jean Strahan Rodriguez.

Pallbearers honored to serve are: Timothy Rodriguez, Benjamin Rodriguez, Tony McCollough, Quentin Vidrine, Thurman Wade and Richard Blocker.
