Oakdale-Funeral service for Brenda Renee Mizlo, 61, will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home. Bro. Danny Broussard will officiate. Bro. Robert Johnson and Bro. Charles Seal will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Pecan Grove Cemetery in Cypress Creek under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home, 311 Highway 1152, Oakdale from 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 until time of service.

Renee' was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a kind, sweet soul with a thankful heart. She always wanted to help and do for others. She was very appreciative of what her family and friends did for her and she always let others know that she loved them. She enjoyed making jewelry, collecting rocks, and working in her little flower bed. She enjoyed times of laughter with her sister and talking with her brother. Renee' loved the Lord and read daily devotionals and made notes. Her mother and her oldest grandson were always by her side. She enjoyed spending time with her family-her mother, daughter, three grandchildren, sister, brother, cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their children. Renee' also had a love for animals. Her dog, Bella, had a special place in her heart and gave her joy. Renee' will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Ruth Sheltman of Oakdale; one daughter, Shelby Thorsen of Fountain Inn, SC; one brother, Ron Sheltman and wife, Pam, of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Debbie Gourdon and husband, Farron, of Oakdale; three grandchildren-Colton, Brooke, and Austin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Renee' is preceded in death by her father, Mel Sheltman.

Those serving as pallbearers for the service include Matt Sheltman, Jeremy Gourdon, Kevin Powell, Daniel Thorsen, Brad Carlson, and Joel Johnson.
