Bonnie Inita McRight was born on November 26, 1951 to Norman and Edna McRight and passed from this life with her family at her side on November 20, 2021 at the age of 69. She was affectionately known throughout her life as Nita and, although she left us too soon, she touched many hearts while she was here.

Nita graduated from Plainview High School in 1969 and married Earl McDaniel. They were married for 17 years and had two children, Bridget and Randy, before Earl passed away in 1986. After Earl's death, Nita went to Delta Business College and went into the healthcare field while raising her children. She then met and married Robert Ray and together they raised his children, Keith, Chris, Sandy, and Tammy in their 32 years of marriage.

Nita retired as a Medical Office Clerk in 2018. She loved her family and music, which she thoroughly enjoyed together; many in her family were musicians and singers. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Nita encouraged and supported her family by attending ball games, choir concerts, recitals, and anything they were involved in. She also loved visiting with her sister, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews and a host of friends. She would tell of her fondest childhood memories which were spent with her aunts, uncles, and cousins on the porch playing music and singing.

Nita could often be found working in the yard, tending her garden, preparing a meal, or crocheting something special for someone. She also loved sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, reading her Bible or a good book. She also enjoyed singing in the choir at church, teaching Sunday school, and helping in any way that she could in her church.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Robert Ray; her daughter, Bridget Earl and husband, Bill; her son, Randy McDaniel and wife, Chrissie; three stepsons, Keith and wife, Natalie, Chris and wife, Julia, Sandy and wife, Amber; one step daughter, Tammy; and her loving sister, Diana McRight. In addition, her memory is loved and kept by her grandchildren, Zachary, Taylor, Zayne, and Tallen Earl, Kelly Minter and husband, Jay, Bobby McDaniel, Devin Ray and wife, Katelyn, Candace Garrison and husband, Kaleb, Kayla Ray, Alexis, Bradon, Chloe Ray, Cheyenne Hedrick and husband, Steel, Kendra Pickett, Hunter Williams, Blaine Ray, Bryce and Bailey Giles. She also has 13 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Nita is preceded in death by her first husband, Earl McDaniel; her parents, Norman McRight and Edna and James Odom; and her niece, Patricia Anderson Wells.

Nita's family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale beginning Tuesday evening, November 23, 2021 from 5pm-9pm and will resume Wednesday morning, November 24, 2021 from 10am until time of funeral service at 12 o'clock noon. Rev. Bill Earl and Rev. Brad Perkins will officiate. Interment will follow at Willis Flat Cemetery immediately following service. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
