Oberlin-Graveside service for Bobbie Nell Rider, 65, will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 11 A.M. in Durio Cemetery. Deacon Norris Chapman will officiate the service which will be followed by burial under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home-Oberlin Chapel.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from
4-9 P.M. at Allen Parish Funeral Home, 119 S. 7th Street, Oberlin. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning from 8 A.M. until time of service.
Bobbie was a lifelong resident of Oberlin. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved people and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her passion was reading. Bobbie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Joseph Billy Bertrand and wife, Emily, of Oceanside, CA; one daughter, Pylla Bertrand Turner and husband, Kevin of Grant, LA; one sister, Sherill Kisting and husband, Harold, of Oberlin; four grandchildren-Christa, Lance, Kiana, and Kyle; two great grandchildren-Gracelyn and Lucas; and two nephews-Chaston and Dustin Kisting.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Margel Rider; one son, Tyrel "Boodie" Bertrand; and two brothers, Jimmy and Larry Rider.
