Oberlin-A Mass of Christian Burial for Bobbie Jean "Tsit" Manuel, 80, will be held at 12 noon Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Rev. Jacob Conner will officiate. Burial will follow in Manuel Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin from 8 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, February 10, 2018 with the Holy Rosary at 11 a.m.
Bobbie was a loving and caring person. She liked visiting people in the nursing home and enjoyed babysitting children in the family. In her younger years she sat with some of her elderly family members. She had a good sense of humor. She enjoyed the casino, walking her dog, and spending time with her family. Bobbie was a lifelong member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church as well as a lifelong resident of Oberlin. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Bobbie's memory include her brother, Gilbert Manuel Jr., of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Etheline "Yen" Manuel Baker, of Oberlin, and Letha Manuel Sommers, of Jacksonville, FL; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Levia Manuel; four brothers, Hewitt, Guston, Melton, and Melca Manuel; and one sister, Vergie Manuel Marcantel.
