Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bobbie Broussard announce his passing.  Surrounded by his loving family, Bobbie went to be with his Savior on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the age of 86.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 at St. Paul Catholic Church.  Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate.  Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 2-10 p.m. with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Bobbie was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was born and raised in Elton and was a member of the Elton High School Class of 1952.  In 1950, he broke two track records for EHS and was given the nickname of "P40" by his friends.  Bobbie was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church where he served as a Bazaar member, usher, Knight of St. Paul, and Sons of St. Paul prior to his retirement and illness.  He retired from Scurlock/Ashland Oil Company after many years of service.  Bobbie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of over 50 years, Mary Ann Broussard of Elton; two daughters, Marilynn Granger of Elton and Samantha Shuff and husband, Jimmy of Ruston; four grandchildren, Kevin Kennedy of Elton, Steven Shuff of Ruston, Barry Granger of Oberlin, Kellie Coulter and husband, Taylor of Ruston; and four great grandchildren, Colton Jacques, Brean, Carol, and Cason.

Bobbie is preceded in death by his parents, Camille and Melonie Fuselier Broussard; his brother, Clarence Broussard, who lost his life serving our country in World War II; two sisters, Audrey Broussard Buller and Ruth Broussard Green; one nephew, Patrick "Lil Pat" Green; and his angel who gave him his vision, Danielle Chaisson Pitre.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Bobbie's son-in-law, Jimmy Shuff; his grandsons, Kevin, Steven, Barry and Taylor; and nephew, Richard Buller.  Honorary pallbearers are Eric Harris and his great grandson, Colton, whom Bobbie nicknamed "CoCo".

The family would like to thank his #1 caregiver, his grandson, Kevin, for everything he has done, along with St. Joseph Hospice and Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.
