Billy Ray Marshall, born in Lecompte, Louisiana, to the union of Earl R. Marshall and Dionia Louise Dixon Laird. He lived a life steeped in family, hard work, and an enduring love for the outdoors. His early years were spent in McNary, Louisiana where he was raised and attended school in Glenmora High School alongside his siblings Earl Marshall and Diona Marshall Kelley. This would lay the foundation for the resilient and hardworking individual he became. As an adult, Billy married and welcomed two daughters, Amanda Kay Frith and Heather Louise Chambers, into his life. Billy was blessed with grandchildren, including Cheyenne, Emily, and Jaxson Frith, Ashton Whetstine, Jeremie Deters, and Triston Chambers. Billy began his working life as a logger, a very physically demanding job that reflected his strength and determination. Later, he expanded his horizons, traveling across the United States to work as an ironworker. Billy was an avid outdoorsman with a deep love for fishing and hunting. He was a kind and caring person and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish Billy's memory include his two daughters, Amanda Kay Frith and her fiancé Billy Humphries, and Heather Louise Chambers and her husband James; step mother, Betty Marshall Reeves; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Emily, and Jaxson Frith; Ashton Whetstine; Jeremie Deters; and Triston Chambers; his siblings Earl Marshall and his wife Jan, and Diona Kelley and her husband Glynn, Misty Ortega, and Shane Stewart; nephews, Jason Traeger and his wife Latisha, Cody Kelley and his wife Dalia, and Trace Kelley, along with numerous cousins and friends.
Billy is preceded in death by his father Earl R. Marshall, his mother Dionia Louise Dixon Laird, his grandson Eli Frith, and his sister Alicia Marshall.
