Obituary

Oakdale-Funeral Services for Billie Faye McPherson Chamberlain, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Tony Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Billie Faye McPherson Chamberlain Yeagley, born May 23, 1939 into the union of George Vander McPherson, Sr., and Mary Elizabeth Black McPherson in Oakdale. Billie Faye graduated from Oakdale High School. She married Robert Lee "Rabbit" Chamberlain, Sr., until his death. Billie was an avid fisherman and an excellent cook. While caring for her loved ones, she enjoyed sewing and was a talented seamstress. Billie Faye also worked for South Central Bell Telephone Company in Oakdale; she then worked for the Calcasieu Paper Company/Boise Cascade as a manager. After she retired, she began working for Winn Dixie and Oakdale Market. She went to Walmart in Oakdale once the market closed. She never met a stranger. Billie Faye will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Lee "Bob" Chamberlain (Rebecca) of Oakdale and Keith David Chamberlain (Bradley Trahan) of Lake Charles; one brother, George Vander McPherson, Jr., (Laverne) of Oakdale; seven grandchildren, Kelly R. Leger (Shain) of Gun Barrel City, TX, Brandi Chamberlain of Eunice, Dustin N. Chamberlain of Eunice, John Wayne Cox (Alicia Nicol) of Gainesville, TX, Nina Taylor (Dan) of Oakdale, Cassey Wood (Mikey) of Oakdale, and Brianna Young of Oakdale; ten great grandchildren, Skylar Prudhomme (Stevie), Abigail Leger, Anaiah Cox, Arielle Cox Bass (Jayton), Brennon Taylor, Logan Taylor, Abi Taylor, Hunter Young, Dawson Young and Gavin Leger; three very special great-great grandchildren, Lincoln T. Prudhomme, Johnny Bass and Arabella Bass; and one on the way.

Billie Faye is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary McPherson; soul mates, Robert Lee Chamberlain, Sr., and Robert Joel Yeagley, Sr.; four sisters, Mary Ann Karam, Betty Lou Spears, Lynn McPherson and Georgia Randolph.

Pallbearers honored to serve are-Gavin Leger, Trey Willis, Kinnie Johnson, C.J. Solet, Phillip Stephens and David Chapman.

Honorary pallbearers are Sarah McPherson Johnson and Dustin Chamberlain.
