Mittie- Funeral service for Bill Brown, 83, will be held Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Mittie. Rev. John Nichols & Rev. T.L. Smith will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in the church from 3pm and will remain open until time of service.
Mr. Brown was a resident of Mittie and a Navy veteran during WWII. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and rooster fighter. Mr. Brown passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Johnnie Brown of Mittie, James Irvin Brown & wife Tammy of Dry Creek; three daughters, Janice Brown of Reeves, Cynthia Evonne Brown of Oakdale, Carleen Brown Mahaffey & husband Gary of Mittie; grandchildren, Dayna Matt & husband Shane, Scott McGee & wife Monique, Brandon Boswell & wife Mona, Courtney Pitre & husband Michael, Bobby Joe Brown, Kimberly Brown & husband Tim, Britney Davidson, Lynnsey Mahaffey, Veronica Brown, Barron Walker Brown; great grandchildren, Shaina, Ashlyn, Jonas, Tristan, Kallie, Adam, Hunter, Khloie, Dailen; a host of nieces & nephews, and many friends.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Dawn Barron; son, Timothy Lee Brown; Daddy & mother, Johnnie & Eula Brown; momma, Lucy Simmons; brother, Bobby Joe Brown.
