Kinder-Funeral service for Betty Unkel Wilhelmi, 91, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 with the Vigil at 6 p.m. followed by the Holy Rosary. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
She is survived by her son, Don Charles Wilhelmi and his wife, Susan Klein Wilhelmi, of Kinder; one daughter, Marcia Wilhelmi Moffatt and her husband, Robert James Moffatt, Jr of Shreveport; six grandchildren, Jeremy Wilhelmi of Austin, TX, Brooke W. Kanigowski of Crofton, Maryland, Don Marshall Wilhelmi of Portland, Oregon, Laura Beth Wilhelmi of Kinder, Lacey Vivienne Moffatt of San Antonio, Tx and Robert James Moffatt, III of Shreveport; five great grandchildren, Robert Klein, Jackson Cade and Meyer Scott Wilhelmi; Carter Ellis and Hollis Jerzy Kanigowski; two brothers, Michael Tessier Unkel of Kinder, and Dr. Patrick Unkel of Lake Charles.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Henry "Hine" Unkel and Eulalie Tessier Unkel; and her husband Dr. Robert M. Wilhelmi; and one brother, Charles "Buddy" Unkel.
In lieu of flowers, special donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or McNeese Foundation designated for the Dr. Patrick J. Unkel Scholarship Fund, Box 91989, Lake Charles, LA 70609.
