Oberlin- Funeral Mass for Betty Ruth Manuel, 76, will be held Friday, January 23, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Father Michael Barras will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Soileau under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held Thursday in New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Oberlin from 5pm and will remain open all night. A scripture service and rosary will be prayed at 6:30pm.
Mrs. Manuel was a resident of Oberlin, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Soileau. She owned Kajun Kountry Korner for many years. Mrs. Manuel passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009.
Survivors include three sons, Anthony Manuel, James (Bubby) Manuel, Martin Manuel all of Oberlin; two daughters, Naomi Monceaux & Maria Aucoin both of Oberlin; two sisters, Theader McCrae & Vera Mae Driggers both of South Carolina; 14 grandchildren & 21 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Manuel is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Manuel; parents, Irvin & Ruth Driggers; two brothers, Herman Driggers & Howard Driggers.
