Kinder-Funeral service for Mrs. Bertha Mae DeVilbiss, 78, will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 10 am in Ardoin Funeral Chapel in Kinder.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 8, 2010 in the funeral home from 1pm-9pm with a Vigil at 6 pm and a Rosary to follow and will continue Tuesday at 8 am until time of service.
Mrs. DeVilbiss was a lifelong resident of Kinder, member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, worked for the Governor's Office of Elderly Affairs and Allen Council on Aging. She traveled extensively throughout the state with her career. She loved to cook and work with her flowers. She especially loved her family, friends and pets.
She is survived by her husband Paul E. DeVilbiss of Kinder; sons, Harlyn Fontenot and wife Debbie of New Orleans, Clayton Fontenot of Kinder and Jeff Fontenot of Kinder; daughter, Connie Fournet and husband, Jack C., Jr. of Kinder; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband,Jake Fontenot; her parents, Ruth and Little Man Duplichan; brother, David Lee Duplichan and two sisters, Betty LaFosse and Naomi Manuel.
