Kinder-Funeral service for Bernadine "Dean" Landry, 84, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder from 2-9 p.m. with a vigil service being held at 6 p.m. followed by the recitation of the rosary. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Dean was a lifelong member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Ladies Altar Society. Dean was a devoted wife of 63 years as well as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked hard over the years in her home to provide for her family. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Dean also enjoyed traveling. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her son, Chuck Landry, Jr. and wife, Deanne of Moss Bluff; three daughters, Susan Lormand and husband, Murray of Kinder, Rebecca Landry of Lake Charles, and Mary Ann Scogin of Kinder; four brothers, David Augustine and wife, Maria, Roy Augustine and wife, Connie, and Ray Augustine and wife, Gayla, all of LeCompte, and Glenn Augustine and wife, Linda of Dallas/Fort Worth; one sister, Loretta Guillory of Kinder; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Dean is preceded in death by her parents, Ena and Frank Augustine; her husband, Charles William Landry; and great granddaughter, Alexandra Courville.
