Kinder-Funeral service will be held for Ben LaPoint, 38, on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 2-9 P.M. and again on Sunday from 8 A.M. until time of service.
All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Ben was a graduate of Kinder High School and McNeese State University. He was a law enforcement officer for 16 years with Allen Parish, Calcasieu Parish, the city of Lake Charles, as well as the Louisiana State Police Troop D Bureau of Investigations. He enjoyed his work and he saved many lives through his dedicated service to others. Ben enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, boating, and tubing. He was a loving son, dad, and brother. Ben will be greatly missed by all whose lives he has touched over the years.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Julie Richard of Kinder and Ricky LaPoint of Lake Charles; his daughter, Alexis Mckenzie LaPoint of Iowa; three brothers, Bryant LaPoint of Lafitte, Michael LaPoint and Jeremy LaPoint, both of Lake Charles; his paternal grandmother, Thelma LaPoint of Kinder; and numerous cousins.
Ben's family would like to extend a special thanks to Allen Parish Hospital Staff, Dr. Ughovwa, and Dr. Krupkin for their dedicated service and outstanding care.
