Topsy- Funeral service for Mrs. Barbara A. Pitre, 67, will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 10:00a.m. in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. John Nichols will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery in Kinder.
Visitation will be held Monday from 11am-9pm and will continue Tuesday at 8am until time of service.
Mrs. Pitre was a resident of Topsy. She enjoyed cooking, especially for Thanksgiving, bingo, gardening, and feeding hummingbirds. Mrs. Pitre passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010.
Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Charles E. Pitre; two sons, Charles W. Pitre "Scooter" & wife Crystal of Reeves, Troy Pitre & wife Robyn of Topsy; three daughters, Jenice LaFargue & husband Mark of Kinder, Debra Istre & husband Curtis of Topsy, Rebecca Burk & husband Clifford of Ragley; five brothers, Johnny "Skippy" Savant, & Kang Savant both of Kinder, David Hill, Larry Hill, & Frankie Hill all of Sumpter, South Carolina; one sister, Jane Andrus of San Antonio, TX; 22 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend that will truly be missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sadie & Cally Savant; great grandson, Daegun Istre.
