Oberlin- Funeral mass for Mr. Augusta "Gus" Goodly, 72, will be held Friday, February 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Father Tim Goodly & Father Michael Barras will officiate. Burial will be in Goodly Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be Friday from 8a.m. in the funeral home until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 9a.m.
Mr. Goodly was a native and resident of Soileau. He was an usher for St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, former member of the Knights of Columbus, was a retired farmer and was currently a truck driver, a cattle farmer, and a member of La. Farm Bureau. Mr. Goodly passed away Friday, February 8, 2008 in his residence.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary Goodly of Soileau; sons, Michael Goodley & wife Tracey of Sumter, SC, Jerome Goodly & wife Sue of Lake Charles, Daniel Togeal Goodly & wife Kayla of Soileau, Rolland Soileau & wife Monica of Westlake; daughter, Rose Mary Carrier & husband Wendell of Baton Rouge; brothers, Martel Goodly of Oberlin, Martin Goodly of Oberlin, Jake Goodly & Pete Goodly both of New Orleans; sisters, Celeman Celestine & Bertha Pappion both of Lake Charles, Clarice Campbell & Sarah Soileau both of Houston; 16 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Togeal & Elizabeth Goodley; brother, John Dorsey Goodly.
