Elton-Funeral service for Audrey Marie David, age 91, will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church at 2pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Rev. Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery of Elton under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton beginning on Monday, February 6, 2012 from 1pm-9pm with a rosary being recited at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 8am until time of service.
Audrey was a lifelong resident of Elton. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church where she served on the Ladies Altar Society for several years. She was an Elton High School graduate and received her nursing degree from New Orleans Charity Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, retired from Jennings American Legion Hospital, and also cared for patients while working with Jeff Davis Home Health. In later years, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and quilting. She especially loved her yard work. She will be greatly missed by her family as well as all who knew her.
Survivors include one son, James Merlin David and wife, Cindy of Elton; three daughters, Patricia "Pat" David of Lake Charles, Marilyn D. Guillory and husband, Curt of Elton, and Susan D. Marcantel and husband, Darrell of Westlake; two sisters, Meriam LeBlanc of Broussard and Melba Chaplain of New Orleans; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Audrey is preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Paul "Speck" David, her parents, Edna and Stephen Guillory and her brother, Carl Guillory.
