Kinder-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Audrey (Des) Cezar, 82, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Audrey, affectionately known as "Des", was a hard-working man. He started out working for the Charles Klumpp Farm, later worked for the Allen Parish Sheriff Department, and then returned to farming, which he truly loved.
He also worked at the Kinder Livestock Farm for many years until he retired. Des enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding horses. He also enjoyed listening and dancing to Zydeco music. He loved visiting with his family and friends and truly blessed their lives. He will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish his memory include his six daughters, Linda (Jimmy) May, Barbara Cezar, Leslie Roberts, Yolanda (Raymund) Gobert, Cynthia (Jason) Citizen, and Odessar (Eugene) Citizen; two sons, Lawrence Citizen III and Cory Anthony Ceasar; his devoted and loving companion, Ophelia Joseph and her children-Lawrence Joseph, Eugene Malbreaux, Jr, Elizabeth Leving, Mathilda Smith, and Talitha Arvie; two sisters, Alecia McCray and Vergie Mae Green; one brother, McZeal Simon; his best friends, Theresa and Phillip Victorian, Joann and Albert Semien, Sr, and Raoul Frank; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
Des is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ozma Benjamin Ceasar, Sr; his wife, Velma Bushnell Cezar, two brothers, Albert Ceasar and Ozma Ceasar, Jr; three sisters, Mary Lemelle, Celestine Singleton, and Violia Guillory; and, one daughter, Shirley Ceasar Moore.
