Asher Jude Cross

    Oakdale-Mass of Christian Burial honoring Asher Jude Cross, 2 months, will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 12 o’clock noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oakdale. Rev. Fr. Vijaya Peddoju and Deacon Dale Deshotel will officiate. Asher will be laid to rest at Oakdale Cemetery in Oakdale, LA immediately following his services.

    Asher’s family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 8 o’clock a.m. until time of departure for service. All of Asher’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

    Asher was born Wednesday, February 11, 2026, to the union of Terry and Heather Cross. He passed peacefully in the arms of his parents on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 4:46 p.m. If their love could have saved him, he would have lived forever. Affectionately called “Baby Buster”, he had a fighting spirit and continued to defy the odds daily. Asher’s memory will live on, he will be forever missed and loved by all who knew him.

    Those left to cherish Asher’s memory include his parents, Terry and Heather Cross of Oakdale; siblings, Owen and Scarlett; great grandparents, Glenn and Randy Brown of MO; grandparents, Art and Monique Cross of Oakdale, Dennis and Bettina Duplechain of Lake Charles, and David (Ken) and Kathy Augustine of Kinder; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.

    Asher is preceded in death by two siblings.

    The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women, the entire staff at Manning Family Children’s Hospital, especially those in the NICU, The Hog’s House (Hog’s for the Cause), and the Local Heart Foundation.
