Oberlin-Funeral services for Mr. Artis Gene Veazey, Sr. will be held at 2PM on Friday,
November 5, 2010 in Oberlin Baptist Church. Rev. Wade McAleece will officiate. Interment will follow in Oaklin Spring Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held in Oberlin Baptist Church
from 11AM to 10PM on Thursday, November 4, 2010 and will continue on Friday at 8AM until time of service.
Mr. Veazey, 70, of Oberlin passed away in his home with his family by his side on November 3, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Elsie Lea Veazey and his parents, EJ and Ethel Veazey.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his two
daughters, Renee Lambert of Oberlin and Becky Granger and husband, David of Oberlin; one son, Artis Gene Veazey,Jr. and wife, Candi of Oberlin; three
granddaughters, Rachel Denise Ware of Oberlin, Kayla Lynn Shuff of Oakdale, and Krista Danielle Veazey of Oberlin; one grandson, Branden Gene Veazey of Oberlin;
two great granddaughters, Blakely Renee and Hailey Denise Guillory of Fairview; two
great grandsons, Mason Heath Ware of Oberlin and Daxton Roy Shuff of Oakdale; two brothers, Phillip Veazey and wife, Lois of Oberlin and George Veazey and wife, Sue
of Guy Community; one sister, Beverly Hobbs & husband, Wayne of Oberlin; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Lawrence Kelly, David Granger, Keith Hobbs, Dennis Prudhomme, John Shuff, and Jared Veazey.
