Kinder-Funeral service for Anna "Mamom" Manuel, age 86, will be held
Thursday, February 10, 2011, at 10am in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church of
Kinder. Father Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow at Liberty
Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2011, from 1-9pm
at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder, with a rosary at 6pm. Visitation will
continue Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 8am till time of service.
Anna was a lifelong member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church
of Kinder and was a member of Ladies Altar Society. She was known
for her sense of humor and the love for her family and friends. She was
an outstanding cook and known for her special ribs and homemade rolls.
She enjoyed quilting and was very devoted to her faith. She was a devoted
wife of over 47 years and a loving mom and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Carmel Young and husband Richard
Young of Oberlin; two brothers, Wilmer Fontenot and wife Annalee of
Eunice, Otis Fontenot and wife June of Sulphur; one sister, Bertralla Young
of New Iberia; and seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two
great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Octave Manuel; son, Charles
Ray Manuel; and her parents, Teiogsiean and Haidee Fontenot.
