The Buller Family sadly announce the passing of their beloved, Amos Buller, age 89. His deep love over the years for his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren made him a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Monsignor Ronald Groth will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 3-9 p.m. at Ardoin Funeral Home, 432 North 8th Street, Kinder. A Taps presentation will be made at 5:45 p.m. by American Legion Post #244 followed by a Vigil Service at 6 p.m. The Holy Rosary will be prayed immediately following the vigil service. Visitation will continue at Ardoin Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Buller was a resident of Kinder. He was also a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church for 61 years where he served as an usher. He served as an altar boy in his youth, as well. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a World War II veteran and member of the American Legion. During his career, Amos managed Marcantel's Dept. Store, the 5 and Dime Store, was an original insurance agent for Mr. Wilbert Ardoin, the founder of Ardoin Funeral Home, served as Allen Parish Chief Deputy Clerk of Court and Interim Allen Parish Clerk of Court. Amos will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his three daughters, Geneva Fontenot and husband, Kenneth, Brenda Bell and husband, Keith, Rachellia Sonnier and husband, Andy; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Eva Laughlin.
Amos is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, June Buller; his parents, Oscar and Dorcina Buller; three sisters-Edna Walters, Ena Savoy, and Dora LaFleur; and one brother, Joseph D. Buller.
