Funeral service for Mr. Alvin John LeJeune will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 2pm at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Deacon Roy Nash will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder beginning on Saturday, December 17, 2011 from 4-10pm and will continue visitation on Sunday, December 18, 2011 from 8am until time of service.
Alvin was a rice and bean farmer for many years. He enjoyed building with wood, doing repair work and gardening. He especially loved sharing the vegetables he grew with all of his family and friends. He worked hard over the years to provide a good life for his family. He was also a United States Army veteran having served his country during the Korean War. He was a simple man of few words and would help anyone who was in need. Alvin was 78 years old.
Survivors include his son, Darrel LeJeune and wife, Susan of Houston, TX; two daughters, Patricia Clement and husband, Robert of Elton and Sharon Hebert of Scott; one sister, Shirley Jean Durio of Elton; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Alvin was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Geraldine Duhon LeJeune, whom he lost two months ago as well as his parents, Irvin and Philomine LeJeune.
