Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Sonja, until her passing in November 2018. He served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Bill was a very proud veteran and a very patriotic person. He worked hard as a foreman for Chevron for thirty plus years to support his family until his well-deserved retirement. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren; but most of all his great grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing; but most of all family gatherings. He was a lifelong member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, a member of The Vietnam Veterans of America, a member of The American Legion Post #244 and a member at large of Veterans of Foreign Wars of The United States Post #14000. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Bill's memory include two sons, James Gillen and wife, Debra, of Westlake and Michael Gillen and wife, Sheila, of Erath; one sister, Laura Roberson of Highlands, TX; four grandchildren, Aaron Gillen, Jason Gillen and wife, Elizabeth, Lindsay Williams and husband, Rusty, and Joshua Gillen and wife, Amanda; and nine great grandchildren, Lorelei Gillen, Jensen Gillen, Eva Gillen, Jayne Williams, Amelia Williams, Wes Williams, Julia Williams, River Gillen and Emersyn Gillen.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Tillimark and Gladys Billodeaux; wife, Sonja Billodeaux; one brother, Richard Billodeaux; and one nephew, David Roberson.
The family would like to express a sincere thanks to the town of Oberlin and his next door neighbors, Keith and Diane Marcantel, for all of their love and support shown for their father.
