Obituary

Oberlin-Celebration of Life services honoring Alton McDaniel 81, will be held at 10 o'clock a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Oberlin Baptist Church. Revs. Gary Evers and Pasial Stowell will officiate. Alton will be laid to rest at Durio Cemetery in Oberlin immediately following his services.

Alton's family will receive friends and visitors at Oberlin Baptist Church on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 4-8 o'clock p.m. Alton's visitation will resume on Friday morning, January 5, 2024, from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Alton's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin.

Alton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother uncle and friend. He was a faithful and devoted husband to his wife Wanda Marie Duplichian McDaniel for 61 years. He was a faithful member of Oberlin Baptist Church where he attended church regularly. He served our country in the United States Army for 3 years. Alton was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. He loved to piddle around his house and enjoyed working in his garden where he grew a lot of fresh vegetables. He loved and adored his family and cherished every memory he made with them. Alton was a man of few words but had a very gentle soul. He was a very kind and caring person and will be unconditionally loved and forever missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Alton's memory include his wife Wanda Marie Duplichian McDaniel of Oberlin; two sons, Robbin McDaniel and wife Stephanie of Moss Bluff, LA, and Keith McDaniel and wife Cindy of Welsh, LA; six grandsons, Jason, Brandan, Cody, Colby, Caleb, and Maddox McDaniel; seven great grandchildren, Nigel, Ayana, Riley, Kai, Autumn, Nevaeh, and Isla; two great-great granddaughters, Anayah and Sophia; one brother, Edward McDaniel of Oakdale, LA; and a host of numerous nieces and nephews.

Alton is preceded in death by his parents John and Alberta McDaniel; two brothers, Rayburn and Johnny McDaniel; and two sisters, Lillian Thompson and Ginger Day.

Pallbearers honored to serve are, Robbin, Keith, Jason, Caleb, and Brandan McDaniel, and Kevin Monteith.

Honorary Pallbearers honored to serve are Brent and Todd Spears, and Riley McDaniel.
