Kinder-Funeral service for Alton Vyvian Baker, Jr., 98, will be held at Kinder Bible Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018. Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. Burial will follow in Kinder McRill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at Kinder Bible Church on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Alton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was married to his devoted wife, Juanita, for over 57 years. He was a faithful member of Kinder Bible Church. He served our country in the Air Force as a pilot and mechanic. He also worked for the State of Louisiana as an inspector for 32 years. Alton was a Mason, a member of the Shriners, and served as a volunteer fireman with the Kinder Fire Department for over 50 years, having served as Fire Chief for nearly 20 years. He enjoyed playing golf and gardening. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Alton's memory include his wife, Juanita Marcantel Baker, of Kinder; one son, Daniel Ray Baker and wife, Liz, of Singer; four daughters, Betty Lynn LeJeune and husband, Ricky, of Houston, TX, Nikki Allie Arthurs and husband, Bruce, of Ponchatoula, Marcia Ettie Miller and husband, Bill, and Vivian Ann Baker, all of Kinder; two sisters, Allie Juanita Rostrom of Fenton and Dorothy Baker Gurley of Fort Worth, TX; 16 grandchildren; and, 14 great grandchildren.

Alton is preceded in death by his parents, Allie (Stephens) and Alton Baker, Sr.
