Obituary

    Glenmora-Celebration of Life services honoring Allie Paul Jr., 94, will be held at 11 o’clock a.m. on Thursday Morning April 23, 2026, at Bethel Baptist Church in Glenmora, LA. Revs. Troy Doyle, Brad Perkins, and Greg Willis will officiate. Allie will be laid to rest at Paul Cemetery in Glenmora immediately following his services.

    Allie’s family will receive friends and visitors at Bethel Baptist Church on Wednesday evening, April 22, 2026, from 4 o’clock p.m. until time of service the following day. All of Allie’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day..."      2 Timothy 4:7-8

    Allie Paul Jr., 94, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 18, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born Sunday, May 31, 1931, in Oakdale to the union of Allie Paul Sr. and Millie Ashworth Paul. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he was the song leader for the choir. He was a log truck driver (Tall Pine) for many years as well as the caretaker for Paul Cemetery for over 50 years. He enjoyed mowing and loved singing. Allie was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

    Those left to cherish Allie’s memory are two sons, Kevin Merchant and Michelle of Hineston, Mitch Thompson of Pitkin; five daughters, Belida Darlene and Steve of Oakdale, Tammy Paul of Deridder, Vickie Maricle and Tony of Pitkin, Lynn Dyer and Donald of Pitkin, and Vanessa Willis and Eric of Pitkin; four sisters, Betty Willis, Leola Burkett, Evy Lou Ashworth, and Dean Hillman; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

    Allie is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Leo Paul, Alvie Paul, Gilbert Paul, CJ Paul, Carl Paul; three sisters, Verna Mae Doyle, Mertie Bogard, and Norma Faye Perry; one great-great grandchild, and his wife, Judith Paul.

    Pallbearers honored to serve will be Mitch Thompson, Kevin Merchant, Todd Disatell, Spencer Willis, Jase Breaux, and Ricky Paul.
