Elton-Funeral services for Allen James "Whip" Williams, 77, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Elton. Rev. Freddie Jack will officiate. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery in Elton, under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 4-10 p.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Allen was a loving brother, uncle, and friend. He loved to hunt and fish. Allen served our country in the United States Navy from which he retired. He was a man of strong faith. He attended Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where he was a faithful member. Allen enjoyed cooking and made the best blackberry dumplings and egg rice. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Allen's memory include his one brother, Michael W. Williams and wife, Lisa, of Kinder; four sisters, Evon Francis and husband, Leo, of Elton, Bezora Barnes of Elton, Rutha Hymon of Elton, and Avella Ackless of Elton.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Sanders and Cora Williams; one daughter, Renetta Williams; three brothers, Willie, Richard, and Freeman Williams; and two sisters, Edna Lavergne and Cora Deville.
