Kinder-Funeral service for Alice Ortego Hamilton, 93, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder from 4-8:30 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 with the Holy Rosary at 6:30. Visitation will resume Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Eulice, for thirty one years until his passing in April of 1978. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters as well as St. Philip Neri Catholic Church until she left Kinder in 2009. Alice was a woman of strong faith. Alice enjoyed quilting, sewing, and crocheting as well as cooking and baking. She also enjoyed planting and growing flowers. She was an excellent homemaker and grandmother to her grandchildren. She worked hard to make a happy home for her family. Alice will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Alice's memory include her three sons, John Paul Hamilton and wife, Belva, of Youngsville, Phillip Paul Hamilton and wife, Katherine, of Baton Rouge, and David Eloi Hamilton and partner, Leland Carlton, of Lake Charles; one daughter, Sally Ann Davenport and husband, Sim, of Owensboro, KY; two brothers, Elliott Ortego and wife, Patricia, of Kinder, and Henry Ortego of Kinder; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Eloi and Winnie Ortego; husband, Eulice Hamilton "preacher"; and two sisters, Sr. Aline Ortego, M.H.S., and Evelina Ortego.
