**Allen Parish Funeral Home-Oberlin Chapel**
Oberlin-Funeral service for Alfred Milton Moore, Jr., 75, will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Oberlin Methodist Church. Rev. Steven Bellard will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 1-9 p.m. at Allen Parish Funeral Home, 119 South 7th Street, Oberlin, LA. Visitation will continue on Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Milton was a lifelong resident of Oberlin. He was a 1956 graduate of Oberlin High School and also graduated in Ag Business from McNeese State University. He was a rice, bean and cattle farmer in the Oberlin area for many years and also worked for Mobile Oil. He was a licensed pilot who thoroughly enjoyed flying. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an LSU football and baseball fan, as well. Milton was a devoted husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. His memory will live on in his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Joye Moore of Oberlin; three sons, Alfred Milton Moore III and wife, Veronica of Lake Charles, Robert Gene Moore and wife, Debora of Salsburg, NC, and Steven Cregg Moore and wife, Michelle of Frisco, TX; one daughter, Melanie Harrison and husband, David of Oxford, AL; three sisters, Virginia Bowles of Oberlin, Miriam Kahl and husband, Charles of Jennings, and June Festavan and husband, Carson of Seattle, WA; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Milton is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred, Sr. and Effie Moore.
