Oakdale-Celebration of Life services honoring Alfred Ware Jr., 82, will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Friday afternoon, April 11, 2025, at Christ Church in Oakdale. Rev. Bro. Greg Willis will officiate. Alfred will be laid to rest at Oakhill Cemetery in Oakdale immediately following his services.

Alfred's family will receive friends and visitors at Christ Church in Oakdale on Thursday evening, April 10, 2025, from 3 to 9 o'clock p.m. Alfred's visitation will resume on Friday morning, April 11, 2025, from 9 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Alfred's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Alfred Jr. was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Alfred Jr. was an avid outdoorsman and love spending time outside in nature. Most often you would find him tending to his garden where he grew lots of fresh fruit and vegetables that he enjoyed sharing with his friends. When he was not found in his garden, he would most likely be playing a good game of dominos or "shooting the breeze" with the locals at Buddy's IGA in Oakdale. Alfred Jr. was a hard worker and spent his working life in the plants doing construction work, working at the local police station, and working for himself cutting "short wood". He was a man of simplicity and enjoyed spending time with his family. Alfred Jr. will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Alfred's memory include his loving wife of 62 years, Elvina Ann Carpenter Ware; three sons, Rocky Ware and wife Donna, Jeff Ware and wife Diane, and Shane Ware and wife Angela, three daughters, Judy Credeur, Tammy Reynold and companion Robbie Caswell, and Tanya Marshall and husband Kevin; three brothers, Bruce Ware, Bobby Ware and wife Janice, Prefus Ware and wife Brenda, four sisters, Linda McDaniel, Nelda Ware and companion Roy Dubroc, Margie Nichols and husband Rick, and Nettie Bryant; 14 grandchildren, Dustin and Chad Walker, Lee Creduer, Heather Giles, Misty Ware, Hope Sonnier, Michael Shane Johnson, John Alan Hazelton, Candace Rougeau, Cody Ware, Leah Ellison, and Jordon, Joseph, and Landon Marshall, 25 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren with one on the way, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Alfred is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Ware Sr. and Edna Mae Ware, and three brothers, Ben Roy Ware, Paul Ware, and Frank James Ware.

Pallbearers are Jordan, Joseph, and Landon Marshall, Cody Ware, Joseph Lockett Jr. and Colby Hendrixson. Honorary pallbearers include Brennan Boudreaux and Bentley Stephenson.

Alfred's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Brighton Bridge Hospice for all their compassion and love while caring for him.
