Oakdale-Celebration of Life services honoring Albert David “Bubba” Messer Jr., 60, will be held on Thursday morning, July 2, 2026, at 11 o’clock a.m. at West Baptist Church in Oakdale. Rev. Robert Jordan will officiate. “Bubba” will be laid to rest at Oakdale Cemetery in Oakdale, La. immediately following his services.

    “Bubba’s” family will receive friends and visitors at West Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 5-9 o’clock p.m. “Bubba’s” visitation will resume at 9 o’clock a.m. until time of service. All of “Bubba’s” arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

    Albert David Messer Jr. affectionately called “Bubba” by those who knew him, was born on Saturday, June 11, 1966, to the union of Albert Sr. and Pamela Messer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all. Bubba loved the lord and serving his church as song leader. He enjoyed the outdoors, he was always hunting, fishing, and camping. He worked hard and constantly to provide for his family. Bubba will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by those who knew him.

    Those left to cherish “Bubba’s” memory include his wife, Debbie Messer of Oakdale; one son, Mitchell Messer of Deridder, LA; one daughter, Tabitha Marie Messer of Oakdale, LA; one brother, Tommy Curtis Messer and wife Tammy Jo of Amarillo, TX; one sister, Margie Messer of Oakdale, LA; three grandchildren, Juan Bermudez, Gabriella Bermudez, and Izabella Bermudez; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

    “Bubba” is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Messer Sr. and Pamela Messer; one brother, Billy Randall Messer.
